Role: Cafe Head Chef

Hours & Pay

Starting rate of £18per hour - Excellent opportunity – providing a very good work life balance working 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday with the occasional evening as and when events happening within the Ray Dolby Centre. You will be required to work an average of 40 hours each week.

Main Purpose of Job:

  • Lead & manage the day-to-day operation of the café kitchen.
  • Provide catering for additional internal meetings.
  • Prepare and serve fresh, high-quality food to consistently high standards.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation throughout the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and allergen regulations, communicating any allergen changes as required.
  • Manage & organise stock, par levels
  • Minimise waste and control kitchen costs.
  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive working environment.
  • Train, mentor and develop the KP/kitchen Assistant.
  • Work collaboratively with the front of house team to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Strong and positive communication with central production unit & cafés.
  • Remain calm, organised, and efficient during busy service periods.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior chef or kitchen manager role within hospitality or events.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to consistently high standards.
  • The ability to work independently and perform well under pressure.
  • A positive, hands-on attitude with a genuine willingness to support the wider team.
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certificate is desirable but not essential.
