Role:Assistant Head Chef

Hours:45 - 50 hours per week

Some of your key responsibilities as ASSISTANT HEAD CHEF at Maki & Ramen Shoreditch


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of food production and kitchen operations
  • Create and develop menus,ensuring high-quality and innovative dishes
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff,including scheduling and performance management
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective strategies for menu planning and inventory management
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Assistant Head Chef or in a similar role. Experience working in an Asian / Japanese restaurant is ideal.
  • Strong culinary skills,including food preparation,cooking techniques,and flavor combinations
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts
  • Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred,but not required
