Position: Chef de Partie
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000

Located within York’s city walls and minutes walk from the minster, Pranzo Italian restaurant holds an enviable and proud position in the city and local community. A stunning Grade II listed building with a stunning glass frontage. We are passionate about everything homemade, our pasta, breads, sauces, desserts and more are all made by our dedicated and skilled chefs.

Job Description

We are looking for hard working chefs to join the team in our new homemade pasta restaurant in the centre of York. The perfect candidate is someone who cares about the guest experience from start to finish, someone who loves working for a growing company and can keep our high standards.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation. A passion for food and a commitment to food safety are essential in this role.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Help train new kitchen staff as required, sharing knowledge of meal preparation techniques.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
  • Good communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members.
  • A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new cooking techniques and recipes.
