mei mei is an award winning fast service kitchen serving takeaway South-East Asian hawker food using high quality ingredients from Borough Market and sustainable partners. We’re globally known for our Hainanese chicken rice and our contemporary take on South-East Asian koptiams (coffee shops). About you -

Candidates should have had some experience cooking with South-East Asian flavours and working in fast paced kitchens. Our kitchen team operates in a busy open plan environment and we ask for enthusiasm, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude to learning new skills and an inclusive, collaborative mindset. We in return will give you the support and training to ensure you progress your abilities and career as well as other staff benefits. As sous chef you will be expected to manage day-to-day operations, supervise junior kitchen staff, and ensure food quality and kitchen safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of street food dishes to high standards, ensuring food safety and quality.
  • Manage food production processes, ensuring timely service during peak hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health regulations.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
