Senior Sous Chef – The Bears Paw

The Bears Paw is looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of our busy kitchen operation.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Sous Chef with the ability to consistently deliver high standards using fresh food in a busy kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef with kitchen leadership, team development, stock control, food safety standards, and overall service delivery.

This role requires someone who thrives under pressure, leads by example, and plays a key role in motivating the kitchen team whilst maintaining excellent food quality and operational standards at all times.

Due to our rural location, applicants must have a reliable method of transport and not rely on public transport. Regular evening and weekend working will be required as part of the role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a Senior Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership role
  • Be confident leading and supporting a kitchen team
  • Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Be passionate about fresh food and high culinary standards
  • Possess strong knowledge of food safety, GP control and kitchen operations
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to development
