Chef – The Kings Head, Napton-on-the-Hill

Overview
The Kings Head is a busy independent pub with a focus on fresh, seasonal food and high standards. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a commitment to quality, helping us deliver memorable dining experiences in a warm and welcoming village setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring every dish meets our high standards of flavour and presentation.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop seasonal menus that showcase fresh ingredients and align with our food ethos.
  • Uphold food hygiene and safety standards at all times, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.
  • Support, guide, and train junior team members, promoting a positive and professional kitchen culture.
  • Monitor stock levels, order fresh produce, and reduce waste through efficient prep and planning.
  • Liaise with front-of-house to ensure smooth service and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Contribute to dish costing and portion control to help manage margins without compromising quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a similar fresh food environment.
  • Confident in managing kitchen operations and supporting a team.
  • Sound knowledge of food hygiene practices and allergen awareness.
  • Creative and passionate about delivering food that excites and satisfies.
  • Calm under pressure, with excellent organisational skills.
  • Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential for the right person.
