Full job description

Shed Bistro are looking for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on the Ormeau Road.

We’ve been in our current ownership since 2017, and our Head Chef has been with us from the very beginning. Over the years we’ve built a loyal, close-knit team and a strong kitchen culture, and we’re now looking for the right person to support our Head Chef and Executive Chef Jonny with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

This role would suit either:

  • An experienced Sous Chef looking for a stable, supportive and well-organised working environment
  • or
  • A strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up, who is highly driven and eager to learnApplicants should:
  • Have experience working across all kitchen sections
  • Be confident on grill
  • Be reliable, organised and able to lead by example
  • Have experience with ordering and kitchen organisation

Key responsibilities:

  • Helping run the kitchen day to day
  • Running service in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Ensuring recipes and prep standards are followed consistently
  • Placing orders through our POS system
  • Assisting with monthly stocktakes
  • Supporting and maintaining a positive kitchen culture

All recipes and menu prep are created and distributed by Jonny and Lukas, so the kitchen is well structured and organised. Input on menu development is always welcome, but not essential.
