Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join the Ginger Pig team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals to our guests while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in culinary arts.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and measuring.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Participate in menu planning and development by providing input on new dishes or improvements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
  • Strong culinary skills with an ability to prepare various types of cuisine.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in meal preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
