JOB TITLE: Hotel Sous Chef - Galgorm

JOB REFERENCE: SCGR 09/26

REPORTING TO: Head Chef

HOURS: Based on 4-5 days out of 7 a week.

JOB LOCATION: Galgorm

SALARY: £40,000 per annum

About the role:

We are seeking to recruit a talented, proactive Sous Chef to join our fantastic kitchen team. We are looking for someone with an overall focus on delivering excellent food every time, someone who will provide support to our Head Chef and assist in the training and development of our team. Job Description:

The main duties will include but are not limited to;

• Assisting the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Managing the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Assisting in the training of junior chefs.
• Working during service on different sections when required.
• Assisting other chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to the highest standard in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment.
• Assisting Head Chef in administrative tasks such as ordering, invoicing, and rostering.
• Working within and maintaining all associated Health, Safety, Fire, and Hygiene guidelines and procedures.
• Ensuring high standards are consistently met and making sure your personal appearance and uniform are in line with the required Resort standards at all times.
• Attend any training that has been set up to aid your own personal development.

The Person:

Applicant must:

• Be passionate about food and the job you do!
• Have at least 2-3 years experience working as a Sous chef. Preference may be given to those who have more experience working within high-volume restaurants.
• Good organisational and leadership skills.
• Have a good, pleasant manner and be well presented.
• Have a hard-working attitude, be able to multi-task, and work well under pressure.
• Be an enthusiastic and positive team player, with a keen eye for detail.
• Have a flexible approach to working shifts and must be available to work daytime, evenings, and weekends.
• Hold basic Food Hygiene Qualification or above.
• Have a sense of pride in the delivery of high standards of presentation and the Galgorm Collection brand.
