Beta Analytic is the world leader in 14C dating and testing. We are an international team with different backgrounds and are looking for thinking individuals interested in scientific fields that want to collaborate with us in our business development efforts in the European German-speaking market. Our clients are companies working with renewable carbon content products, such as bioplastic producers, refineries, Waste-to-Energy plants, and third-party labs. You can expect scientific conversations over the phone and via email, clients visits, as well as periodic attendance to scientific and business conferences.

Schedule is flexible but candidates should work during business hours and be based in Europe. Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English and German is required. Excellent command / high proficiency in other languages is a plus.

Role and Responsibilities

Our services are premium and highly specific, and you will receive the necessary training. We are looking for someone with effective management of productivity, goals, workload and schedule. The main responsabilities are:

Business Development / Prospecting of the German market

• Contribute to the growth of your local region in terms of samples and new clients
• Contribute to strategy & adapt global sales strategy to your local region
• Gather market intel (industry trends, competitors, regulations) and report to management/follow up with prospects accordingly
• Prospecting activities
• Obtain and follow up on referrals from cold calls and conversations with clients

Account Management

• Build relationships with key contacts to develop business at major accounts in your region. This includes clients visits in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
• Use data analysis to track sample submittal trends - follow up with clients to fill up the pipeline
• Take care of incoming inquiries/emails and follow up on results
• Escalate recommendations for improvement in processes and user interface based on customer experience
• Anticipate and fix potential issues

Promotion of the analyses

• Present external webinars on specific topics
• Represent Beta at conferences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, a plus if degree is in the field of Chemistry, Biotechnology or Environmental Science
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
• Follows processes and accepts direction
• Open to being trained and coached
• Accountability: true to word, takes action and accepts responsibility
• Proactive and resourceful
• Able to work comfortably and effectively from home office and during business trips (clients visits and conferences)
• A commitment to excellent customer service.
