Full job description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Bar Manager / Duty Manager to work closely alongside our existing management team. The role requires a passion for the food and drink industry industry, for customer service and for leadership.

The Cheshire Cat is part of a three venue company and as such we are able to offer excellent prospects for promotion and career progression.

Role Overview: To develop The Cheshire Cat bar and restaurant in terms of service, staff development and training, promotion and marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • To monitor the drinks and food served in all areas of the bar to make sure they are to the specification standard of The Cheshire Cat.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant, bars, courtyard and other areas of responsibility
  • To ensure you are aware of all events, menu’s and operation times of the business and these are communicated to your team
  • To keep the bar and restaurant team both well-disciplined and motivated
  • Ensuring your team are cash and transaction handling correctly
  • To be a first point of contact for guests, assessing their needs and ensuring they are met
  • To ensure that your teams are well trained and knowledgeable in all menus and products
  • To set a good example to others around you, conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times
  • To assess operational procedures and change and adapt where necessary
  • To organise regular meetings and training sessions with your team
  • To attend regular management meetings
  • To become responsible for the opening and closing of the business, with responsibility for the building and all contents
