Full job description

Chief Operating Officer

Location: National – regular UK travel required
Salary: Highly competitive and open to discussion, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

This is not a role for someone looking to simply maintain the status quo.

We are partnering with an ambitious and well-established organisation that is entering an exciting period of significant UK growth. With plans to expand its national presence through a substantial acquisition strategy, the company is now seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to help lead the next stage of its journey.

The COO will work closely with the executive team to drive operational performance, integrate new acquisitions and build the infrastructure required to support a rapidly expanding organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role and make a genuine impact on the future direction and success of a growing national business.

The Role

As Chief Operating Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring the business can scale effectively while maintaining consistently high standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading operations across a large and growing national portfolio
  • Supporting the successful mobilisation and integration of acquisitions
  • Developing scalable operational structures, systems and processes
  • Driving performance, efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Building and developing a high-performing senior leadership team
  • Ensuring strong communication and consistency across the organisation
  • Working closely with the executive team to deliver the wider growth strategy
  • Identifying and managing operational risks during periods of rapid expansion
  • Maintaining quality and performance as the organisation continues to grow

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and commercially astute senior leader who has successfully operated within a large, complex organisation.

You will be someone who:

  • Has significant experience at COO, Managing Director, Operations Director or equivalent level
  • Has successfully led large-scale, multi-site operations
  • Has experience supporting rapid growth, acquisitions or business integration
  • Is comfortable working within a fast-paced and continually evolving environment
  • Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
  • Has a strong commercial focus and a proven record of improving performance
  • Is resilient, decisive and able to lead confidently through change
  • Can build effective relationships with investors, executives and operational teams
  • Is motivated by the opportunity to build, develop and scale an organisation

This position will suit an established leader who is energised by growth and transformation and would not be deterred by the pace, complexity or ambition of the company’s expansion plans.

What’s on Offer

  • A highly competitive salary, open to discussion depending on experience
  • A senior position with genuine influence over the organisation’s future
  • The opportunity to lead through a significant period of UK growth
  • A comprehensive benefits package
  • Long-term professional scope within an ambitious national business
