Residential Childcare Worker (RCW) – Therapeutic Children’s Homes
Senior positions available for qualified applicants
Taunton & Bridgwater, Somerset
Full-time | Average 40 hours per week
£31,142 – £32,702 per year - Inclusive of sleep-ins
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Willingness to complete the Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner qualification (if not already achieved)
- Compassionate, resilient, and motivated individuals
- Enhanced DBS check and references required

The Role
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will:
- Provide consistent, nurturing care
- Build positive relationships with children and young people
- Support daily routines and personal care
- Help develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and independence
- Encourage education, hobbies, and community activities
- Respond calmly and therapeutically during challenging situations
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
- Work closely with colleagues and other professionals
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with children and young people
- Residential childcare experience
- Understanding of trauma and child development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
