General Assistant (Check Out)

Job Title: General Assistant (Check Out)
Training Location: Chinatown / Tottenham / Alperton / Stratford
Work Location: Tottenham (N17 0DX)
Salary: £ 13.00/hr (probation) / £ 13.30/hr (after probation)
Reports To: Supervisor, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Store Manager
Department: Check Out
No. of vacancies: 1

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Scan each product code efficiently, and weigh fruit and vegetables if necessary
  • Process till transactions on a daily basis using cash and card payments
  • Complete all transactions accurately and efficiently, including return and refund operations , and membership card
  • Assist in opening and closing of the till with Check Out Supervisor
  • Work with other colleagues to keep your working area clean and organised
  • Provide excellent customer service including dealing politely and helpfully with customer queries at all times
  • Support other departments as needed or when requested by store management team

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills
  • Pay attention to accurate payment processing
  • Previous experience in a retail environment an advantage

Must have the legal right to work in the UK (without sponsorship)

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
