Front of House Waiter / Waitress

Make guests feel welcome, help them find a new favourite, and keep the good mood going.

Do you enjoy looking after people and making a restaurant feel welcoming? We’re looking for friendly, reliable Front of House team members who can bring warmth, energy and a bit of personality to every guest’s visit. Hospitality experience is useful, but a great attitude and a willingness to learn matter too.

About Little Chan

Little Chan is an independent Manchester restaurant serving Chinese and Southeast Asian comfort food. Guests can discover Malaysian chicken satay, Vietnamese spring rolls, Hainanese chicken rice, braised beef brisket, tofu pad kra pao and seasonal specials, alongside drinks chosen to complement the food. Our style is relaxed and no-fuss: great food, friendly service and good moods all round.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome guests help people feel at home, guide them through our walk-in service and make their visit enjoyable.
  • Know the menu learn the dishes, ingredients and drinks so you can answer questions and make recommendations.
  • Take and serve orders get orders right, serve food and drinks promptly, and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar.
  • Take allergies seriously pass dietary requirements to the right team members and follow our allergen procedures carefully.
  • Keep things looking good maintain clean tables, service stations and guest areas; help with opening and closing tasks.
  • Be a team player process bills accurately, share guest feedback and support colleagues wherever needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • A warm, approachable personality and a genuine interest in making guests feel looked after.
  • Clear communication, attention to detail and a reliable, punctual approach.
  • Previous hospitality or customer-service experience is helpful, but not essential; training is provided.
  • The ability to stay friendly and organised during busy periods.
  • Willingness to learn about ingredients, allergens and our food and drinks menu, and to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required.
