Mandarin Speaking Warehouse Operative

Shift: 16:00-00:30 (fexible 5 days based on rota)

Overtime paid at 1.25 hourly rate, after contracted hours have been completed.

Warehouse Operatives will be assigned to any warehouse operations including goods in, picking, scanning, dispatch/loading whilst working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will need to provide a professional service to all departments, ensuring all warehouse duties are completed accurately within required deadlines, and in a safe manner.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Including Decision Making, Complexity and Contact with others

1. Take delivery of goods and supplies

2. Check for damaged or missing items

3. Store goods appropriately

4. Pick and pack orders for dispatch

5. Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a fork lift truck

6. Load goods for dispatch

7. Ensure delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production standards

8. Input data regarding stock and inventory into a computerised system

9. Keep accurate stock records

10. Carry out stock counts daily

11. Keep paperwork up to date

12. Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures

13. Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others

14. Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency

15. Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience required for role:

· Experience of working in a Warehouse / Logistics business

· Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin

· Numerate and literate

· Ability to use own initiative to problem solve

· Good communication skills

· Ability to follow instructions

· Have a “can do” approach to tasks

· Ability to work under pressure and to work to tight deadlines

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Ability to work accurately and methodically

· Ability to plan and organise work

· Flexible approach to duties and tasks to meet the demands of the job

· Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items

· An understanding of health and safety requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.42 per hour
