Full job description
Total Performance Collective are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sports Massage Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human anatomy, sports injuries, and therapeutic techniques tailored to athletes. You will work closely with clients ranging from everyday clients seeking pain relief, to sporting personel, helping them recover from injuries, improve performance, and maintain optimal physical condition.
We are located in the heart of Chichester at Optimus Gym and we pride ourselves on being the go-to place for all sporting and holistic therapies in the area. We boast a professional and welcoming environment with a choice of 2 massage rooms based on your clients preference.
All equipment is provided, from a high-end electronic therapy bed to the oils for conducting the massage, you just need yourself and your skills.
Key responsibilites:
Conduct Assessments: Perform initial and ongoing assessments of clients to understand their physical condition, identify areas of tension or injury, and develop tailored treatment plans.
Provide Therapeutic Treatments:Deliver specialised sports massage techniques, including sports massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and stretching, to alleviate pain, enhance performance, and prevent injury.
Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with our physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other therapists to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.
Educate Clients: Provide clients with guidance on post-treatment care, including stretches, exercises, and lifestyle adjustments to support their overall well-being and recovery.
Maintain Records: Document client progress, treatment plans, and session notes accurately and confidentially.
Stay Informed: Continuously update your knowledge of sports massage techniques, injury prevention, and rehabilitation through professional development and continuing education.
Promote Services: Assist in promoting the clinic's services by maintaining a professional image, providing excellent client service, and participating in community events or workshops as needed.
Qualifications:
Certification: Valid certification or diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (Level 3 Minimum) from an accredited institution.
Experience: No experience necessary as you will recieve full support and training with us to build your client base and continually improve your services.
Insurance: Personal insurance to cover yourself as an individual will be required for this role. We can assist you in finding the best provider for this.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and sports-related injuries.
Skills: Proficient in a variety of sports massage techniques, with the ability to tailor treatments to individual client needs.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and explain complex concepts clearly.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for long periods and applying deep pressure when necessary.
Professionalism: Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
