Why You’ll Love It
If you're the sort of MSK clinician who gets more excited about helping someone return to running, lifting or playing sport than simply getting them off the treatment couch, this could be right up your street.
Our client is an established, highly regarded private MSK and rehabilitation clinic with a reputation for tackling everything from everyday aches and injuries to complex cases that other clinicians refer for a second opinion.
They're looking for someone who believes great rehabilitation is about more than hands-on treatment. It's about understanding the problem, explaining it clearly and helping people build the strength, confidence and capacity to get back to doing what they love.
You'll have the freedom to develop your own practice within an established clinic, access to excellent facilities and a genuinely impressive professional education network.
This isn't a role for someone looking for a guaranteed full diary from day one. It's an opportunity for a motivated clinician who enjoys working independently, building patient relationships and developing a caseload over time.
All About You
Our client is much more interested in how you think, treat and rehabilitate than simply how many years you've been qualified.
What you'll need:
-
A relevant qualification in Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Sports Rehabilitation, Chiropractic or a closely related MSK discipline.
-
Appropriate professional registration or membership and professional indemnity insurance.
-
Relevant MSK clinical experience, with strong assessment, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills.
-
Confidence prescribing and progressing exercise-based rehabilitation, including strength and conditioning.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex problems in everyday language.
-
The confidence to manage patients independently and take ownership of their rehabilitation.
-
A genuine commitment to evidence-informed practice, patient education and long-term outcomes.
What would really impress our client:
-
Experience managing active, sporting or complex MSK patients.
-
A strong understanding of progressive loading, conditioning and return-to-sport rehabilitation.
-
The confidence to challenge outdated beliefs and help patients understand what actually supports their recovery.
-
An interest in developing your own caseload and contributing to a collaborative clinical environment.
You don't necessarily need decades of experience or an impressive list of postgraduate qualifications. An exceptional earlier-career clinician with the right skills and clinical approach could absolutely be considered.
Equally, if your approach centres mainly around passive treatments, with little emphasis on active rehabilitation and patient self-management, this probably won't be the right clinical fit.
Please note, candidates must have a permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK to be considered for this position. We are unable to consider applicants whose right to work is time-limited.
What Will You Be Doing?
-
Assessing and managing a varied private MSK caseload, from everyday injuries to more complex presentations.
-
Developing individualised rehabilitation programmes focused on strength, movement, function and recovery.
-
Supporting patients through progressive exercise, conditioning and return-to-sport programmes.
-
Using objective assessment tools and performance measures to guide clinical decisions.
-
Helping patients understand their condition and take an active role in their recovery.
-
Managing your own appointments, clinical records and ongoing patient relationships.
-
Building a sustainable caseload through high-quality care, patient trust and the clinic's existing referral and booking systems.
Working Hours and Environment
This is a flexible, part-time, self-employed associate opportunity based within a well-equipped sports club in Timperley, Altrincham.
Ideally, our client would welcome someone available for approximately two longer days per week , including some evening availability. However, there is flexibility for the right clinician to start with fewer sessions and develop their working pattern as their caseload grows.
The clinic offers private treatment rooms, a dedicated rehabilitation gym, strength and conditioning equipment and extensive outdoor sporting facilities.
Patient enquiries and direct online bookings are supported through the clinic, although the role does not come with a guaranteed full diary.
Earnings are based on collected clinical fees, with the 50% fee share available following an agreed review of clinical practice and readiness to manage a caseload independently. The review criteria and expected timeframe will be discussed during recruitment.
The £64 to £80 hourly figures are illustrations based on fully booked clinical time, before the associate's own tax and expenses, not guaranteed hourly rates.
Reaching Your Potential
Our client has built an excellent reputation in MSK rehabilitation, growing from a specialist second-opinion service into an established private clinic with close connections to a much wider clinical education and professional development community.
That means you'll be joining an environment where clinical curiosity, questioning established thinking and continually improving patient outcomes are genuinely encouraged.
You'll benefit from structured clinical onboarding, competency support and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals working across MSK rehabilitation, education and performance.
There is also genuine scope to grow your associate practice over time, develop your clinical interests and become an established part of a respected rehabilitation team.
This opportunity will particularly suit someone who is already confident working independently but wants to keep learning, developing and challenging their own clinical thinking.
Sound like it could be a good fit?
