Support Worker – Make a Real Difference Every Day
Imagine working for an employer that truly values you.
Make a difference in your local community.
Build a rewarding career where what you do really matters.
We are a local charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, mental health conditions and older people.
We are looking for caring, passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our friendly team. You don't need to have previous experience or formal qualifications in care — what matters most to us is who you are, your attitude, and your commitment to supporting people as individuals.
We are looking for people who are:
- Kind, caring and respectful
- Positive, enthusiastic and creative
- Interested in helping people enjoy their interests, hobbies and everyday lives
- Able to work well as part of a team, while also using their own initiative
- Reliable, flexible and willing to learn
- Passionate about helping people have choice, independence and control over their lives
Most importantly, we believe that every person is an individual with equal worth, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and kindness.
No experience? No problem!
You don't need previous experience in care, and you don't need qualifications to get started. We will provide you with the training, support and guidance you need to become an excellent Support Worker.
Every day will be different because the people we support are all unique. You will build meaningful relationships with the people you support, their families and friends, health professionals and others in the local community.
Together, you will help people to live well, stay connected and enjoy a fulfilling life at home and in their community.
What will you be doing?
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Support people with dignity, kindness and respect at all times.
- Encourage and support people with their personal hygiene, which may sometimes include intimate personal care.
- Enable people to do as much as they can for themselves, helping them maintain and develop skills and independence.
- Support people with everyday activities such as domestic skills, leisure activities, socialising and life skills.
- Help people discover opportunities in their local community that bring pleasure, purpose and connection to their lives.
- Keep accurate written records and learning logs.
- Work positively with families, friends, health professionals and other agencies involved in a person's life.
- Support people in a flexible way, focusing on what matters to them and how they want to be supported.
- Take part in induction, training and ongoing learning.
What we offer
We believe in looking after our staff as well as the people we support. That's why we offer a great range of benefits, including:
- Free DBS check
- Stream – access your pay before payday
- Sleep-in and waking-night enhancements
- Additional pay for bank holidays, Christmas Day and New Year's Day
- 28 days' annual leave (including bank holidays), rising after your second year
- Long-service award
- Paid induction training
- Employee Assistance Programme
- 4% contributory pension
- Death in Service scheme
- Health Shield – voluntary health cash plan
- All necessary training provided
- Opportunities to gain Health and Social Care qualifications
Could this be the role for you?
If you are someone who genuinely cares about people, enjoys helping others achieve their goals and wants a job where every day can make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
Whether you are looking for your first role in care or are an experienced Support Worker looking for a new opportunity, we would be happy to hear from you.
Our recruitment process consists of two stages.
If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to a first-stage interview. If you are successful, we will then ask you to complete the relevant pre-employment checks.
All applicants must be able to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK.
Please note we do not offer sponsorship.
Have questions? We'd love to hear from you!
If you'd like to find out more about the role or have any questions about working with us, please message or WhatsApp us on 07841037175.
We will be very happy to have a chat and answer any questions you may have.
