Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover basis, starting September 2026. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care within a busy clinical environment, supporting doctors and other healthcare professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your nursing skills, contribute to patient wellbeing, and develop your professional expertise in a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care, including health assessments, wound care, and health education.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations accurately in accordance with prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and record medical histories with attention to detail.
  • Assist with minor procedures and ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Support patients through health promotion activities and provide advice on managing chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Proven experience in patient care within a clinical or primary care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Competence in medication administration, including injections and other treatments.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to support diverse patient needs. This role is ideal for a proactive nurse committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Pay: From £19.00 per hour
