Enchanted Santa’s Elf – Join the Christmas Magic!

Our much-loved Enchanted Gardens festive event returns this November- January, and we’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic and big-hearted Elves to join Santa’s team and help make this our most magical Christmas yet!

This is more than simply wearing an Elf costume. We’re looking for people who can truly become an Elf.

As one of Santa’s Elves, you’ll be based outdoors along our enchanting light trail, helping create the excitement and anticipation as families make their way to meet Santa.

You’ll be there to welcome, entertain, reassure, excite, and spread festive cheer — making sure every child feels like they’ve stepped into a magical Christmas story.

No two families are the same and there’s no script. One moment you might be helping a nervous child feel more comfortable, the next you could be telling a family about Santa’s latest adventure, sharing some Elf secrets, or finding yourself caught up in an unexpected conversation with a very curious little visitor!

You’ll need to be playful, imaginative, quick-thinking, and completely committed to staying in character.

You’ll be expected to:

• Welcome and interact with children and families with warmth and enthusiasm.
• Help create excitement and anticipation before guests meet Santa.
• Engage visitors through storytelling, improvisation, games, humour, and festive conversation.
• Think on your feet and confidently handle wonderfully unpredictable children.
• Work closely with Santa, fellow Elves, and the wider event team.
• Create spontaneous moments of Christmas magic.
• Keep your energy, positivity, and festive spirit going throughout your shift.

We’re looking for people who genuinely love working with children and have the personality to make them feel welcome, excited, and special.

Previous experience working with children is desirable, while experience in acting, performance, children's entertainment, theatre, immersive experiences, or character work would be a bonus.

Most importantly, you’ll need to be:

• Friendly, warm, and naturally welcoming.
• Confident and outgoing.
• Great with children and families.
• Playful, imaginative, and full of personality.
• Comfortable improvising and thinking on your feet.
• Able to stay in character in unexpected situations.
• Passionate about Christmas and creating magical memories.

And remember — Elf energy is essential!

You’ll be working outdoors during the winter months, so you’ll need to be prepared for cold weather and potentially long periods standing, walking, and interacting with guests. Staying warm, comfortable, hydrated, and energised is all part of being a successful Elf!

Shifts are during the evenings and include both weekdays and weekends. Start times are typically from 4pm, with shifts lasting between 4 and 6 hours. Some shifts may finish as late as 10pm, so please consider your travel arrangements before applying.

This is a fixed term role beginning 2nd October 2026 ending 4th January 2027. The event runs throughout the festive season, so evening and weekend availability is important.
