Hours of work: 7 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

Are you passionate and committed to supporting young children with their learning and personal development?

Nutley is a small rural primary school, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team, where you will enjoy the challenge of working across the school, supporting teachers and working with small groups or individuals. The 7 hours term time only contract will include some class cover work and there may also be opportunities to provide class cover at other times on a claims only basis.

Please be aware that we are advertising for an additional position that could be applied for alongside this role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be enthusiastic and committed to developing the whole child, both personally and academically.

  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge.

  • Feel confident working both with individual pupils and larger pupil groups.

  • Be patient, calm and truly listen to and value children’s views.

  • Demonstrate versatility and flexibility.

  • Be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Have excellent motivational and communication skills

  • Be someone who is determined and resilient, calm under pressure and with

high expectations of themselves

  • Be creative and the ability to think differently to inspire children to learn

  • Someone with a positive approach to behaviour, firm and fair and rigorous in following up positively

  • Have integrity, tenacity and enthusiasm to fulfil the role

  • Have experience in a classroom supporting the Class Teacher as well as working independently with small groups of children

  • Be an excellent Teaching Assistant with high expectations for welfare of pupils

  • Participate fully as an innovative member of our team

Salary Range, currently TA3 £25,185 - £25,583 pro-rata
