Join Our Team as a Nursery Manager! At our small, stunning old-school setting at Little Houghton Day Nursery

At Little Houghton, we’re seeking a passionate Nursery Manager to guide our team and deliver exceptional care and education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing. To be considered for this role, you must also hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher and have previous managerial experience.

Pay: From £33,072 per Annum - based on experience (40 Hours per week)
Working Hours: 37.5 to 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Flexible shifts either 4 full days 8am-6pm (40hrs), or 3 full days and 2 half days (37.5hrs)

What being a Nursery Manager involves

As a Nursery Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire your nursery team to deliver high-quality care and education with pride and energy.
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children’s all-round development and meets individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Oversee nursery operations, including staff schedules, budgets, health and safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a mentor, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting the professional development of your team.
  • Promote the ethos and values of The Old Station Nursery, ensuring they are deeply embedded in daily practice.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across the nursery.
  • Confidently lead inspections and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards.

  • Proven experience in managing and inspiring teams within a childcare setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS framework and best practices in early years education.

About our Nursery

In the picturesque village of Little Houghton in Northamptonshire, Little Houghton Day Nursery offers a nurturing and enriching environment for your child’s early education. Situated in a charming rural setting, our nursery provides children with a variety of learning opportunities that allow them to explore their interests and develop their unique talents. At our nursery we have 3 rooms, baby room which is 0-2 years, toddler room which is 2-3 years, Preschool room which is 3-5 years. Little Houghton Day Nursery is just to the south of Northampton, off the A428 (Bedford to Northampton Road), next to the local church St Mary The Virgin. The nursery is only a short drive away from other local villages as well as a bus route called the village hopper which goes to all surrounding villages and to Northampton Bus Station. Parking is available outside the nursery.
