Full job description

We are looking for an Asset Champion to support the Rail Division’s technical and operational teams by managing the end-to-end asset validation process.

This role is responsible for ensuring that all assets captured through our works management system are accurate, validated, and submitted to the client in the required contractual format. You will maintain the integrity of the asset register, ensuring all reactive and planned works are linked to valid assets and that any newly identified or installed assets are correctly recorded.

Working closely with the CAD team, BDUs, operational managers, and the client, you will ensure alignment between system data, site records, and approved drawings. Teamleaf will be used as the primary platform for asset capture and management, with outputs aligned to client systems and reporting requirements.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the asset validation process across reactive and planned workstreams.
  • Ensure all work orders are linked to valid assets on the latest approved register.
  • Create, update, and retire assets based on verified site information and project works.
  • Work alongside the CAD team to ensure asset data aligns with approved drawings.
  • Collate and submit asset data to the client in the required contractual format.
  • Identify and resolve gaps, duplications, and inaccuracies within the asset register.
  • Liaise with BDUs and operational teams to improve asset capture and reporting quality.
  • Support the client in improving asset register structure and data quality where required.
  • Maintain data integrity between Teamleaf, internal reporting tools, and client systems.
  • Provide guidance to operational teams on correct asset recording procedures.
  • Support operational and commercial reporting by ensuring asset-linked data is accurate and sent in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience managing asset data, registers, or technical records within rail, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data validation.
  • Understanding of the relationship between site data, asset registers, and CAD drawings.
  • Experience using job or asset management systems (Teamleaf or similar desirable).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational, technical, commercial, and client stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of contractual data and reporting requirements.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Must be familiar with MS Excel

Benefits

  • 24 days holiday
  • Pension scheme and death-in-service benefit
  • Free car parking
  • Regular training opportunities, including our in-house City & Guilds qualifications
