Overview

Delicatessen Supervisor, Celino’s Alexandra Parade, G31 3BT

Rate of Pay - £14 per hour plus (dependent on experience)

Celino’s, a multi award winning Italian Delicatessen & Restaurant, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Delicatessen Supervisor.

The original Celino’s (operating since 1982) is located on Alexandra Parade, approximately 2 miles from Glasgow city centre. Our deli, which operates alongside our very busy 40 seat trattoria, is packed with the very best Italian products including charcuterie, cheeses and olives. We also stock our own bread, pastries, pizza al taglio, arancini and pasta dishes.

Our focus is on providing our customers with a fantastic experience by providing the highest quality Italian food and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to assist the Delicatessen Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the Delicatessen.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Ensure the highest standards of service

Engage with customers and solve problems promptly in a calm manner

Achieve and maintain a warm and welcoming ambience

LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORKING

Lead and motivate the Deli team during shift (3-4 team members) ensuring smooth operation of the counter

Delegate tasks effectively

Provide ongoing feedback to team members

Collaborate with the kitchen & restaurant teams to ensure seamless service

STOCK MANAGEMENT

Assist the Manager in all aspects of stock control including ordering, receiving, storage and rotation

Ensure FIFO practices, date labelling and quality checks are being correctly carried out

MERCHANDISING & PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Ensure deli counters, displays and shelves are immaculate, well-stocked and visually appealing

Regularly refresh displays to keep the store feeling dynamic and engaging

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE

Assist the Manager in monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators

Assist the Manager in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

At least 6 months of supervisory experience in a deli, other food retail environment or hospitality environment

Proven leadership abilities

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities

Strong focus on cleanliness and compliance with food hygiene standards

Proven ability to thrive in a busy, high pressure environment

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays as required

Preferred

Experience of working in Italian delicatessen or restaurant and/or strong knowledge of Italian food

Food hygiene and safety certification

Personal License Holder

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
