Description
Location: Greenwich | Contract Type: Permanent | Working Pattern: Full-Time | Office Based | Regular Travel
Pay / Benefits: Remuneration for this role is benchmarked competitively within our sector.
Join OCU and play a key role in the commercial delivery of a major electrical infrastructure framework supporting critical works across the power network. As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of commercial activities across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery and strong commercial performance.
This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team where you'll have genuine autonomy and responsibility, managing a varied workload across framework projects while developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same, this could be the role for you.

What You'll Do
- Manage the commercial aspects of utility and electrical infrastructure projects across the framework.
- Prepare and return accurate quotations within agreed timescales.
- Audit subcontractor applications and claims, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.
- Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution activities.
- Prepare applications for payment, invoices, and supporting commercial submissions.
- Monitor project costs and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Support operational teams with pricing, commercial advice, and contract administration throughout project delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, infrastructure, power, civil engineering, or construction environments.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration principles.
- Experience managing variations, claims, and commercial negotiations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and influence commercial outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience delivering utility infrastructure, power, or electrical network projects.
- Bonus if you have experience working within long-term framework contracts.
- It would be great if you hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- It would be great if you are a member of, or working towards membership of, RICS, CIOB, or a similar professional body.
- Experience using commercial management systems and collaborative project delivery platforms would be advantageous.
