Full job description

Functional Assessor – Nurse, OT, Physio, Paramedic or Pharmacist

Salary £45,079–£47,160 + up to 10% quarterly discretionary bonus + Opportunity to achieve a £2k salary uplift over the first 12 months, based on achievement of development milestones

Are you looking to use your clinical skills in a different way? As a full-time Functional Assessor, you'll continue to utilise your clinical expertise, maintain your registration, and enjoy a better work-life balance.

You must be a Registered Adult Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist currently practising in the UK, and have been in UK clinical practice for at least the last 12 months. Pharmacists require a minimum of 18 months' experience and must be Independent Prescribers.

Flexibility and remote working

This full-time vacancy is specifically for clinicians based outside Greater London, East Anglia and the South East. If you live within these areas, please search for our Hybrid Functional Assessor vacancies instead.

Our remote mobile roles allow you to work primarily from home while spending either 25% or 40% of your time at one of our sites. The 40% model attracts the higher salary. We'll cover associated travel and overnight accommodation costs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out functional assessments face-to-face, via video and telephone to assess claimants' ability to undertake activities of daily living.
  • Using active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information.
  • Producing high-quality, structured clinical reports for submission to the DWP.
  • Working alongside experienced clinical colleagues to ensure high-quality and clinically fair assessments.

You'll receive paid, structured training to achieve formal DWP accreditation, alongside CPD and reimbursed professional registration fees.

This full-time role suits clinicians who are comfortable using technology, writing detailed reports, working to targets and undertaking formal training into a new role.
