Housekeeper at The Forest Side

Full-time | From £13 per hour | Grasmere, Lake District

At The Forest Side, making people feel at home starts with the care we put into every room. We’re looking for a Housekeeper who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a small, supportive team.

With twenty bedrooms, a Michelin-starred restaurant and five AA Rosettes, we care about the details. Our housekeeping team helps make the house feel welcoming, comfortable and beautifully looked after, every day.

The role

Working alongside our Head Housekeeper, you’ll help prepare bedrooms and keep the shared spaces throughout the house spotless and inviting.

Your duties will include:

  • Cleaning and preparing bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to our housekeeping standards.
  • Taking care over the finishing touches that make each room ready for our guests.
  • Spotting and reporting maintenance issues or anything that needs attention.
  • Counting and bagging laundry for collection, and checking it when it returns.
  • Working safely and keeping equipment and storage areas clean and organised.
  • Communicating with colleagues and helping the wider team when needed.

About you

You’ll have an eye for detail, a reliable approach and a willingness to get involved. Previous housekeeping experience is welcome, but we’re happy to provide full training for someone who brings care, enthusiasm and pride in a job well done.

What we offer

  • Pay from £13 per hour.
  • A share of tips, typically £200–£300 per month.
  • Daytime hours: 8am–4pm, five days out of seven, including weekends.
  • 28 days’ holiday per year.
  • Staff accommodation available from £200 per month, including bills.
  • Full training and support from an experienced team.
