Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
  • Support cooking staff during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
  • Help with the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste.
  • Keep kitchen equipment clean and well-maintained, reporting any issues to the head chef.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts to ensure a tidy workspace for the next day.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • A passion for food and hospitality, with an eagerness to learn about culinary practices.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
