Full job description

Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Cleaner to work within the offices and presbytery of Reverend Monsignor Philip Gregory at St Josephs Church, Crow Orchard Road, Wrightington, WN6 9PA. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with Father Philip and other members of the team.

To provide an efficient and comprehensive cleaning service to the Parish priest whilst ensuring a pleasant, safe, confidential and welcoming environment to all those who visit. Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning of areas including living rooms, sitting rooms, dining room, kitchen, multiple bedrooms and ensuites, bathrooms, utility room, offices, cottage and parish hall. Ensuring the following are cleaned: windows, fixtures and fittings plus other domestic duties including washing dishes, laundry, ironing, vacuuming and dusting and polishing furniture.
  • To ensure clean linen and towels are always available for the parish priest and visitors, including religious vestments, garments and altar cloths using appropriate tools.
  • To ensure all household cleaning products and equipment are stored away safely in the Presbytery when not in use.
  • Complete rotating daily, weekly and monthly tasks such as day-to-day cleaning, weekly bedding wash, monthly refrigerator clean.
  • Alter cleaning priorities when there are guests staying which involved cleaning and preparing spare bedrooms and bathrooms.

Qualifications

  • COSHH certificate.
  • Manual handling certificate.

Terms and conditions

This is a permanent part-time position, working 12 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:30am - 13:30pm.

Actual salary is £8,392.80 per annum. 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata), a pension scheme and other benefits are available.

Pay: £13.45 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 per week
