Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the comfort and cleanliness of our care home environment, ensuring a welcoming space for residents and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), working 7:00am – 4:00pm, including alternate weekend working, however this is on a temporary contract.

Please note: We are not offering visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties throughout the care home, including resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchens.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control protocols.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory, restocking as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens as well as, vacuuming, mopping and polishing surfaces.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to guarantee consistent standards of hygiene.
  • Support the team in creating a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for residents and staff.

Experience

  • Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, hospitality, or janitorial roles is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.

Pay: From £12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
