Job Overview:

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout Stoke Park's guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and estate buildings. As part of a luxury five-star heritage resort, the Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring guests experience exceptional comfort and service at all times.

The role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to excellence, and a proactive approach to maintaining the impeccable standards expected at Stoke Park.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Rooms & Accommodation

  • Clean, service, and prepare guest bedrooms, suites, and bathrooms to the highest luxury hospitality standards.
  • Replenish guest amenities, linens, towels, and consumables as required.
  • Complete room servicing and turndown services in accordance with departmental standards and schedules.
  • Ensure all rooms are presented impeccably and are ready for guest arrival within designated timeframes.
  • Report maintenance issues, defects, or damage to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Handle guest belongings and personal items with the utmost care and professionalism.

Public Areas & Estate Cleanliness

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of public areas, including corridors, lounges, reception areas, meeting spaces, spa facilities, and staff areas.
  • Ensure all public areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming throughout the day.
  • Assist with the care and presentation of the Mansion and other estate buildings, ensuring they reflect the luxury standards of Stoke Park.
  • Support housekeeping requirements during events, weddings, conferences, and exclusive hire periods.

Linen & Laundry Operations

  • Assist with the collection, sorting, and distribution of linen and uniforms.
  • Ensure linen stores, housekeeping cupboards, and work areas remain organised and fully stocked.
  • Monitor stock levels of guest supplies and report shortages to the management team.
  • Follow all procedures relating to the handling and storage of linen and cleaning materials.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with all housekeeping procedures, cleaning schedules, and quality standards.
  • Ensure the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including manual handling and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection prevention across all work areas.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, hazards, or unsafe working practices immediately.

Guest Service

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping enquiries.
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and discreet service at all times.
  • Support the delivery of exceptional guest experiences by maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude when interacting with guests, colleagues, and visitors.

General Responsibilities:

  • All employees are expected to be fully familiar with, and adhere to, the hotel’s policies and procedures relating to fire safety, emergency evacuation, first aid, health and safety, and security.
  • Staff must also ensure they understand and follow the guidance outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as any relevant notices displayed in key operational areas throughout the estate.
