Overview
We are seeking a reliable, nurturing, and experienced Housekeeper Nanny to join our household. We are seeking someone dedicated and nurturing to provide exceptional care for children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for childcare, along with the ability to create fun and educational activities. This role requires a blend of responsibility, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure the well-being and development of the children in your care. Running the house is a demanding role. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and confident in managing both childcare and housekeeping responsibilities alongside each other. This is a long-term position for someone looking to become an integral and trusted part of the family.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Must have experience with toddlers and newborns
  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and educational exercises.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to encourage positive social interactions among children.
  • Assist with homework or educational tasks as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and assist with housekeeping tasks for the family which include; daily cleaning and tidying of the home (laundry, vacuuming, dusting, etc.)
  • Organise wardrobes and storage areas. Ironing and care of clothes and linens.
  • Prepare nutritious weekly meal/snacks plans and organise the shops accordingly, for the whole family while adhering to dietary restrictions.
  • Keep track of food stock levels and create grocery lists and assist with shopping and household supply management
  • Label and store prepared meals when needed (e.g. for reheating later)
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene standards
  • Ensure variety across meals while maintaining nutritional value
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the home daily
  • Available to accompany the family on holidays or weekends away

Experience

  • Previous experience in childcare or as a Nanny is preferred.
  • Skills in commercial cleaning are advantageous for maintaining a tidy environment.
  • Cooking skills are essential for preparing meals that cater to preferences and dietary needs.
  • Experience in customer service is beneficial for effective communication with parents and guardians.
  • A background in hospitality or hotel services can enhance organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in a similar Nanny Housekeeper role
  • A genuine love of children and home organisation
  • Strong attention to detail and initiative: Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of privacy
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Clean driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Friendly, calm, and professional manner
  • Confident cook
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend help
