Full job description
Little Oaks is committed to the safeguarding of children, therefore all appointments are subject to receiving an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), as well as appropriate references.
Purpose of the Post - The post holder is responsible for undertaking cleaning duties within the nursery to a high standard, as directed by the Nursery Directors and Management.
Accountable To - Nursery Directors
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate continued respect for our children’s environment, creations and representations.
Clean all areas of the nursery, as directed
- Collect and remove waste / rubbish from nursery areas.
- Clean toilets and sinks.
- Dust / wipe clean all surfaces.
- Sweep, mop and clean floors.
- Clean and polish windows and mirrors.
- Respect for all cleaning materials, equipment and other supplies used for cleaning and advise Manager/Directors of low stock levels as necessary. Adhere to COSHH regulations.
- Adhere to health and safety policies to ensure the health and safety of self, children, their families, staff and any visitors to the nursery. Training, Performance Management, Vision and Ethos . Attend any training, team meetings and social events as-and-when required.
- Contribute to and attend own staff appraisal. Ensure adherence to the nursery’s code of practice on confidentiality.
- Contribute to the team effort of the nursery and fulfill the nursery’s ethos and vision to ensure that they are effectively shared, understood and implemented by all.
- Perform any other cleaning duties as deemed necessary by the Nursery Directors/ Managers

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations and guidelines
- High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness
- Solid organisation and communication skills

- Ability to work independently at work

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
