About the role

Reporting into the Estates Services Officer you will be responsible for providing high quality Cleaning and Gardening services to our schemes in Lancaster, Morecambe, and the surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who has good customer service skills as you will be interacting with our customers and colleagues. The work can sometimes be quite physically demanding. You will also be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:

  • Experience of delivering high quality estate services – cleaning, gardening, and minor repairs.
  • Track record of working to agreed standards, specifications, and timescales.
  • Direct experience of working with customers and customer feedback in a service delivery environment.
  • Understanding of the importance of health and safety compliance, and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, including COSHH and PPE
  • Experience of budgets management and cost control.
  • Where appropriate experience of leading teams and managing staff.

Some of the key duties involved are:

  • Manage, co-ordinate and monitor the work of all gardening staff under your supervision to ensure that they fulfil the requirements of their role by providing advice, training, and guidance in relation to their work and skills development.
  • Ensure that all hard standing and landscaped areas are maintained to the highest standard in line with agreed specifications, targets, and timescales for action.
  • Seek out and utilise customer feedback to help you deliver year on year improvements in customer satisfaction with services designated to your responsibility.
  • Respond positively and quickly to agreed standards to complaints and customer challenge to resolve the issues and to ensure that lessons are learnt.
  • Ensure that services are delivered in line with agreed budgets and that costs and expenditure is monitored and controlled to achieve this.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidance in relation to the delivery of services.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday – 8:00am – 4:00pm.
  • 35 hour per week
  • No weekend working.

Essential Requirements

  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Ideally 2 years gardening experience
