Job Title: Cleaning & Waste Manager

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: 40 per week, 5 days over 7, part of the duty manager rota so required to work Saturdays

As the Cleaning & Waste Manager you will be responsible for the onsite cleaning and waste team, ensuring the highest of cleaning standards, waste collection and recycling are adhered to at all times.

We really need you to have

  • A good understanding and able to demonstrate previous achievements in managing a large cleaning & waste collection team.
  • A good understanding of waste management / compliance and able to increase recycle rates
  • Know what Good looks like!
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety with IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Must be fully PC literate for reporting.
  • Able to communicate at all levels, fostering a culture of inclusion and development.
  • Able to work to budgets and deadlines.
  • A good understanding of HR processes
  • An ethos as a team player.

What’s Involved - Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to the cleaning & waste team to meet site requirements to ensure a consistently high service delivery.
  • To maintain those high standards by monitoring and auditing the work completed and working with the site manager for any changes for improvement
  • Recruit and coach the cleaning & waste team to achieve the contracted hours.
  • Effectively communicate daily with partners / tenants, colleagues to resolve issues and build positive working relationships.
  • Maintain budgets for use of all equipment, stock and on rota planning.
  • Check equipment is clean and safe to use.
  • Lead the teams to achieve expectations through from inductions, Health and safety training and on the job training.
  • Ensure all Company compliance and documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Accurately report sickness and ensure absence levels are managed correctly
  • Other duties reasonably expected to deliver an effective and efficient service to the customer
