The Upper House Hotel, Barlaston
24–32 hours per week | Maternity Cover – approximately 1 year
Starting around 1st November 2026
Rate of pay: National Minimum Wage

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and detail-oriented Hotel Housekeeper to join our team at The Upper House Hotel in Barlaston, covering maternity leave for approximately one year.

In this vital role, you will ensure that the hotel remains spotless, welcoming, and safe for residents, staff, and visitors.

The role

  • 24–32 hours per week
  • Maternity cover for approximately 1 year
  • Start date around 1st November 2026
  • Shifts start from 7.00am, with finishing times varying depending on the day's workload
  • Opportunity to pick up additional hours to cover staff holidays and sickness
  • Weekend work will be required as part of the role

Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning of hotel bedrooms, bathrooms and hotel public areas and function rooms.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly after each shift
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistent quality across all areas
  • Assist with laundry duties as needed, including sorting, washing, drying, folding and ironing linens
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management for swift resolution
  • Support the team by adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean working environment

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following detailed instructions
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety standards
