Domestic Assistant at Danygraig, Bridgend Road, Porthcawl, CF36 5SR

£12.71 per hour | Permanent | 18 hours per week

We’re looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Danygraig Care Home in Porthcawl.

This is much more than simply keeping things clean. You’ll play an important part in creating a safe, comfortable and welcoming home for the people we support, while maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene you'd expect within a care environment.

Your shifts

This is a permanent, part-time role working 3 shifts per week on a rolling rota:

• Weekdays: 8am - 3pm
• 1 in 3 weekends
• 18 hours per week
• £12.71 per hour

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards throughout the home, including residents’ bedrooms and bathrooms, communal areas and other shared spaces, alongside laundry duties, deep cleaning and maintaining organised storage areas.

You'll also work in line with infection control, COSHH and health & safety procedures, while always being mindful that you’re working within residents’ home and respecting their privacy, dignity and personal belongings.

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you’ll already have experience in a domestic, housekeeping or cleaning role within a care home, healthcare or similar environment.

However, experience isn't everything. We’re also happy to consider someone without direct experience who can demonstrate the right attitude, a strong work ethic and an understanding that working as a Domestic Assistant in a care environment is more than simply a cleaning job.

You'll need to be reliable, conscientious, respectful and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team. Full training will be provided.

• This role involves working 2 - 3 shifts per week. Weekday shifts are 8am - 3pm or 11am - 6pm, with 1 weekend in every 4 working 8am - 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Are you able to commit to this working pattern?
