Part-Time Domestic Cleaners (1-4 days per week - you choose)

We currently have two potential openings in our very small and friendly, close-knit team for a part-time domestic cleaner working mainly in Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Blackwell, and Rowney Green.

Working pattern

The role is flexible in terms of working days - so if you would prefer to work only one day per week, this is not a problem, but likewise if you would prefer to work 4 days per week, this would be possible too.

Your working days would be fixed at the start of your employment, so would not vary from one week to the next. You would never be asked to work on a Monday or during the evening or at the weekend. You would only be expected to work on yourregular work days that have been agreed.

If you have childcare responsibilities such that you are only available during school hours, then please do not apply for this job, as we would not be able to accommodate this.

Nature of work

Many of our clients are elderly, but this is purely a domestic cleaning role and does not involve any counselling or personal care duties. Tasks include general house cleaning chores such as bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and mopping floors.

Working arrangements

You will not usually work alone, but would be paired with another experienced and friendly cleaner. All cleaning equipment, PPE and cleaning products are supplied at our expense.

The working day starts at 8:45am at our base in Alvechurch, where you will collect equipment and products. You will typically finish around 4:00pm (sometimes slightly earlier).

Travel and driving

You will take it in turns to drive your own vehicle with your cleaning partner between client homes.

• Mileage is typically very low (around 5–10 miles per day)
• You will be reimbursed at 55p per mile
• Business use car insurance may be required — please check with your insurer

A full driving licence and a safe, roadworthy vehicle are required.

Equipment and support

All cleaning equipment and products are provided. You do not need to supply anything yourself other than dark trousers and a plain white t-shirt.

Pay and terms

• Weekly pay on a Thursday in arrears
• Weekly emailed payslip based on timesheets
• Contract of employment provided
• Statutory holiday entitlement included
• NEST pension if you wish to opt-in

You will be provided with a uniform (tabard, fleece and company badge) for a smart, professional appearance when visiting clients.

Recruitment process
