**We are looking for a Nursery Housekeeper/Kitchen Assistant for a children’s day nursery **

You would be required to work Mondays to Friday 09:30-15:00 as contracted hours.

The salary is paid monthly and is based on experience, qualifications, and the suitability of the successful candidate.

As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for ensuring that children are provided with snacks and meals during the day. We create vibrant learning spaces, and our Housekeepers will make sure that our children are fuelled with healthy food to equip them for their learning. You will make sure that the kitchen is clean, washing and sterilising is done, bins are emptied, and meals are served in line with allergen information and food hygiene standards.

You will be required to support with house keeping needs for the nursery. As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for ensuring that iStep Learning are always presenting themselves in the best way by looking welcoming and inviting for everyone during the day. We create vibrant learning spaces and our Housekeeper will make sure that everything is where it should be, fresh and tidy ready to enhance our children’s learning and make them feel welcome. You will make sure that the nursery is clean, that laundry is done, bins are emptied, and deliveries are tucked away. You’ll work closely with everyone in the nursery to ensure that meals are served on time and are the very best standard that they can be.

What will you do?

You will work closely to support the nursery and make sure healthy meals and snacks are served on time. You will have accountability for the following:

• Maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen – take ownership for the kitchen and its upkeep, make sure that it is a clean and hygienic place for meals to be served and prepared.
• Serving snacks and meals – Starting with breakfast you’ll make sure that healthy snacks and meals are provided for everyone in the setting. External caterers will provide main meals, but you will serve and compliment them with healthy snacks.
• Tidying up – Making sure that bins are empty, surfaces are clean, things are put away in the right places and washing and laundry is done at the end of each shift.
• Team Player – be part of a fantastic team and forge great relationships within your team and everyone in the nursery setting.
• Stock rotation and taking delivery of food orders.
• Welcome spaces – make sure that our front of house is inviting, and welcoming, fresh flowers are put out, shoes are tided away and coats are hung up
• Any other duties as reasonably requested by the nursery staff.

Requirement: Level 2 or 3 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate

Salary: £11.44 per hour

All employment is offered subject to a 3-month probationary period and completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and two written references.
