School Cleaner required for St John's Primary School, Burnley Road, Cliviger, Burnley, BB10 4SU.

Your Role:

To carry out a full range of duties to provide high standards of cleaning and locking site on an evening.

Working pattern and hours:

· 15 Hours per week – All year round contract - 45 weeks plus 6 weeks school closure cleaning.

· The working day will be a 3pm-6pm shift; the total hours are 15 hours per week. Working Monday to Friday at St john's Primary School only:

15 Hours schedule: Afternoon Shift 3pm-6pm.

Role and Responsibilities:

· Be responsible for locking school premises during school hours and activating/deactivating security alarm systems as required.

unlocking and locking school gates for the parents.

·general cleaning of classrooms, toilets, corridors and the hall

detail work as and when required, including glass, dusting etc.

emptying all the general waste and recycling bins in your area.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

· Comply with the requirements of Health and Safety at Work regulations.

· Some lifting is required.

· Take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and others, including adherence to ‘lone working’ guidelines.

· Cooperate with the school to ensure that Health and Safety responsibilities are carried out.

· Perform duties in line with health and Safety and COSHH regulations and take action where hazards are identified, reporting serious hazards immediately to the Head of School or another senior person.

The Essential Criteria:

· Experience in cleaning

able to work alone and be competent locking school alone.

· Enthusiastic and proactive.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Time management skills.

· Willingness to undertake training online when necessary.

Please note:

· The post holder will often be required to work without direct supervision during school holidays, following lone working guidelines, as necessary. In addition, they will also have daily contact with the Bursar / Head Teacher or other nominated staff.
