Full job description

Job Title: Domestic Cleaner (Flexible Hours)

Location: Walton-on-the-Naze
Hours: Minimum 15-18 hours per week (flexible)

We are looking for a flexible and reliable Domestic Cleaner to join our friendly team at a large residential care home in Walton-on-the-Naze. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to a high standard.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and polishing.
  • Empty bins and ensure waste is disposed of appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all public and staff areas within the home.
  • Follow infection control, health and safety, and COSHH procedures at all times.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor or manager.
  • Support colleagues by covering shifts for sickness or holidays when required.

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience (ideally in a care or healthcare setting) preferred but not essential — full training provided.
  • Must be able to work at least one weekend in every 3–4 weeks.
  • Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
