Job Title: Cleaning Technician

Position: Permanent

Position type: Full Time Contract

Pay:

Starting pay at £13/hr for standard working hours, at 40hours per week. Evenings, weekends, and overnight work will be paid at a higher rates. If the post holder opts in for availability to cover Call Outs the On Call rates, standby rates, and Call Out rates are paid starting from £70 per callout

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a wide range of cleaning services, including but not limited to:

• Domestic and residential cleaning
• Commercial and office cleaning
• Industrial and builder’s cleans
• Clinical cleaning and extreme cleans
• Social services-related work (e.g., working with vulnerable adults)
• Void clearances, rubbish removals, needle sweeps, body fluid cleanups
• Follow training and safety protocols at all times
• Maintain and operate cleaning equipment in line with manufacturer and safety standards
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
• Report equipment faults or site issues promptly
• Document jobs, including reports and photographs where needed
• Work independently or as part of a team, taking leadership when required

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Clean UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years
• Physically fit: able to lift up to 20kg, stand for extended periods, and carry out physically demanding tasks
• Willingness to work across a range of environments, including specialised and sensitive settings
• Willing to undergo a DBS check
• Positive, professional attitude

Desirable

• Previous professional cleaning experience
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe use practices
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure
• Team player with strong communication skills

The postholder will be expected carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, commensurate with the grade.

The postholder will be expected to actively follow Vortex Cleaning’s policies, procedures and company rules at all times.

The postholder will be expected to maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.

A full clean UK Driving License will need to be held for a minimum of 2 years. The post holder will be expected to drive company vehicles. A van may be provided for travel to and from work and the post holder may be required to pick work colleagues up.

The postholder may also opt in to cover callouts on a rota basis.
