Private Housekeeper & House Manager

Chester & Wrexham Area

48 to 54K pro rata 12 month fixed term contract

30-40 hours per week, offering flexibility in working patterns and hours.

Accommodation is available on duty days, and a vehicle is provided for work-related use.

We are looking for an exceptional housekeeper to maintain travelling directors’ residences and guest accommodation to the highest standards. You will ensure each property is impeccably clean, organised, welcoming and always guest-ready.

The role includes housekeeping, laundry care, household organisation, guest preparation, and oversight of minor property matters. Experience with smart home systems is an advantage.

We are seeking a discreet, reliable and proactive individual with an excellent eye for detail, a strong sense of pride in their work, and the ability to create comfortable, well-presented homes that support a demanding lifestyle.

The successful candidate will be professional and self-motivated with exceptionally high standards, possess a keen eye for detail, and have a positive, friendly approach, demonstrating discretion, integrity and a genuine pride in maintaining beautiful homes and delivering a job exceptionally well done.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Presentation

  • Maintain all rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and living areas to an exceptionally high standard. Ensure the properties remain permanently presentable and ready for use
  • Undertake regular deep-cleaning programmes where required.
  • Provide meticulous laundering, ironing and garment care when required.
  • Take particular care of quality clothing, delicate fabrics and specialist items.
  • Ensure wardrobes, linen cupboards and storage areas remain well organised.
  • Arrange specialist dry cleaning and repairs where necessary.
  • Create a welcoming experience for principals and visiting guests.

Kitchen & Household Stewardship

  • Arrange household groceries, consumables and household supplies.
  • Maintain refrigerators, freezers and cupboards in a clean, organised and well-stocked condition.
  • Monitor stock levels and rotate products appropriately.
  • Prepare shopping lists and purchase routine household supplies.
  • Care for indoor plants, flowers and decorative displays.
  • Ensure seasonal planting and floral arrangements are maintained attractively.
  • Create a welcoming and vibrant environment throughout the residences.

Property & Garden Oversight

  • Identify small maintenance, housekeeping or garden matters before they become problems.
  • Liaise with the maintenance person or contractors to ensure issues are addressed promptly.
  • Assist with light outdoor duties and simple practical tasks where appropriate.
  • Ideally have IT knowledge to use smarthome devices and take advantage of the growing devices enhancing the home and guest experience.
  • Drive between properties and interchange equipment, shopping at stores as necessary, and online shopping from time to time.
  • Being the “eyes & ears” of the property and help identify enhancements.

  • Full UK driving license.

Pay: £48,000.00-£54,000.00 per year
