Weston College is excited to be opening the brand-new Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College, in Filton, Bristol, which will welcome its first learners in September 2026.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Customer Services Assistant to provide a responsive reception service ensuring exemplary standards which exceed customer expectations, and maintain the Colleges outstanding reputation.

The successful candidate will assist switchboard services, provide a clerical support to the CIS team where required and assist with all communication services including, but not limited to, Livechat, email and WhatsApp.

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week).

Working Pattern

Normal working hours are:

08:00 -17:30 Monday - Friday, flexible for business needs.

However, adjusted working hours (and location) can occur without notice to meet the business need. Early morning, evening and weekend working is essential for specific events and a mandatory element of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and provide outstanding reception services.

  • Provide all customers with an exemplary experience ensuring the college's reputation as an outstanding learning and training provider.
Manage presentation and functionality of reception areas ensuring high standards.
  • Radio calls for caretaking and first aid requirements, including emergency services contact.

Support with switchboard services

Provide outstanding customer service to all callers, transferring calls efficiently to the most appropriate area / person within the College Group.
    95% answer rate for all phone lines into the College switchboard.


  • Adjusting responses to ensure appropriateness for the whole College Group.

You will need to be:

  • A Team player, committed to working effectively and supportively with others, both within the department and the wider college.
  • Professional, warm and have a friendly manor with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a polite, effective and efficient telephone manner and customer Service skills.
  • Committed to the delivery of a wholly customer-focused service.
