Full job description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Hearing Care Assistant (training provided) to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills who is passionate about helping people improve their hearing health and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and support patients throughout their hearing care journey.
  • Conduct hearing screening tests in accordance with clinic protocols.
  • Perform otoscopy and ear wax checks to identify potential ear canal obstructions and determine suitability for further assessment.
  • Assist Audiologists and Hearing Care Professionals with patient appointments and clinical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and testing rooms.
  • Accurately record patient information and maintain confidential clinical records.
  • Provide basic hearing aid support, including cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and battery changes.
  • Explain hearing care procedures and promote hearing health awareness.
  • Manage appointment bookings, patient follow-ups, and administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, infection control, and data protection procedures.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to put patients at ease and demonstrate empathy and professionalism.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Confidence using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Previous healthcare, audiology, optical, or customer-facing experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
