The system will initially be deployed within Manchester Private Hospital before being launched commercially across the UK healthcare market.

About the Role

This is not a traditional graduate software engineering role.

We're looking for someone with exceptional motivation, curiosity and ambition who wants to accelerate their career by working directly with the founder on a real healthcare technology platform.

You don't need years of commercial experience.

Instead, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult problems, learns quickly, embraces AI-assisted development, and wants to build software that has a real impact on patient care.

You will work closely with:

  • The Founder and Product Owner
  • Experienced third-party software developers
  • Clinical and healthcare advisors
  • UI/UX designers
  • External technology partners

You will be expected to grow into a technical product engineer with increasing ownership over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Software Development

  • Develop backend services using Laravel
  • Build responsive user interfaces using React
  • Work with MySQL databases

  • Integrate third-party services

AI-Assisted Development

You'll be encouraged to use modern AI development tools including:

  • ChatGPT
  • Claude
  • GitHub Copilot

We believe AI should make developers more productive.

We're looking for someone who knows how to use AI intelligently while still understanding the code they produce.

  • Appointment scheduling
  • CRM
  • Workflow automation
  • Messaging
  • Clinical documentation
  • Dashboards
  • Resource management

You'll learn how real healthcare organisations operate and help turn business processes into working software.

Working with Existing Software

You'll learn to:

  • Understand an existing codebase
  • Improve existing features

Working with External Developers

You'll collaborate with experienced software vendors and developers.
