Job Introduction

Bank Nurse
Southampton
Pay rate : £30 p/h - Up to 24hrs per week

We are seeking passionate and driven Bank Nurses to support complex care packages in clients' homes across Southampton. Specialising in high-acuity care, including tracheostomy and ventilator support, this field-based role combines travel with home working.

Reporting to the Head of Clinical, you will work closely with Complex Care Managers, ICBs, and multidisciplinary teams to assess new clients, develop care plans, train and sign off support workers, and ensure safe, high-quality care delivery. You will also review and audit care packages, maintain clinical documentation, conduct client reviews, reassess staff competencies, and address clinical concerns.

As a key member of the clinical team, you will help ensure care remains person-centred, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with Acuity’s values, while contributing to policy development, team collaboration, and continuous service improvement throughout the Southampton area.


Experience and Skills of a Nurse:

  • We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Nurse who can confidently support individuals with a range of complex care needs.
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a valid PIN, with a commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • Experience working across a variety of care settings, including hospital, community and home-based care.
  • A strong clinical background in ICU, spinal injury and/or complex care.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own diary and workload effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with the flexibility to travel for up to two hours when required.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing schedules and service requirements.
  • Experience supporting both adult and paediatric clients.
