Clinical Negligence File Handler / Paralegal

The Role

KLS Law is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence File Handler to join our busy and growing civil litigation department in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with clinical negligence experience to take ownership of their own caseload while supporting the Director and Solicitors on more complex matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in progressing claims efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care.

You will work within a dynamic litigation team handling a range of clinical negligence matters and assisting on complex and high-value claims.

Our office is based in Warrington, Cheshire, with excellent transport links to Liverpool and Manchester. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About You

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working within clinical negligence

· Experience assisting with or managing a caseload of clinical negligence claims

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment

· Confident liaising with clients, experts, counsel and other legal professionals

· A proactive and professional approach with strong problem-solving ability

  • A genuine interest in clinical negligence litigation

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with the management and progression of clinical negligence claims

· Support senior fee earners on complex and high-value cases

· Draft legal documents including correspondence, statements and court documents

· Prepare instructions to counsel and expert witnesses

· Liaise with clients, experts, counsel and insurers

· Conduct legal research where required

· Assist with settlement negotiations

· Manage files and ensure compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements

· Maintain accurate records within case management systems

· Assist with billing processes and file closure

Working Hours

Your working hours are 37.5 per week, based on 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. From time to time, a degree of flexibility may be required to work beyond these hours to meet urgent business needs.
