Job overview
INTERNAL - OPEN TO CURRENT CFT RESEARCH TEAM MEMBERS
The Research Delivery Lead will provide effective leadership, co-ordination and supervision for a delivery team of research nurses, clinical studies officers and research support staff, to an agreed quality, performance and financial framework.
Drawing on extensive research delivery knowledge, the post holder will have a key role in maximising the effectiveness of the use of resources to deliver the NIHR portfolio research within the Trust. The role will provide a senior focus for professional support and an expert role model for clinical research delivery staff. They will support the Lead Research Nurse and Research Manager in implementing the Research Strategic Plan across CFT and providing a high-quality service.
Main duties of the job
The Research Team supports a wide variety of commercial and academic research, across mental health, dementia, learning disabilities and adult community services, including observational and complex interventional studies. The post requires strong leadership skills, enthusiasm, the ability to inspire others and influence change.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential criteria
- Current professional registration – NMC, HCPC
- Masters level qualification in a field related to healthcare and/or clinical research or willing to work towards
- Substantial experience of delivering commercial/non commercial and academic research in a healthcare setting
- Experience of co-ordinating a team in the conduct of clinical trials and able to deal with staff performance issues
Desirable criteria
- Management or Leadership qualification
Knowledge and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Extensive knowledge of national policy, organisations, standards and frameworks related to healthcare and clinical research
